30 DAY FAST, SEPTEMBER 1 – SEPTEMBER 30 (Join any time, see how to prepare below.)

Early morning posts every day: 30 days of fasting does not mean you do not eat for 30 days! A fast can be many things. Normally it is a plan to deny yourself some kind of food or something that is habitual. You want the lack of it to be noticed regularly by your body and your mind. And you want to experience a sort of hunger for it. It can be a good thing or a bad thing. A fast, by design, will turn your thoughts toward God when the moment comes that you say No. These posts will help you prepare and focus on how He will spiritually provide what you need, in the moment and beyond.

Evening posts every day: Personal posts from me that share my own daily experience of fasting, encourage tasting the sweetness of our Lord before sleep, and prepare us for an ever deeper renewal in the morning.

A Season of Harvest Day 15: Family Legacy

Ruth blended herself into Naomi’s family and became one of the seeds of the lineage of David. Jesus, the baby born in the manger, came from that same line! Ruth, whose husband had died, said to Naomi, her mother-in-law, “Do not plead with me to leave you or to turn back from following you to…

A Season of Harvest Day 14: Humbly Born

Clothe yourselves with humility as you relate to one another, for “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God and at the right time He will lift you up. 1 Peter 5: 5-6 John the Baptist is a beautiful example of someone clothed with…

A Season of Harvest Day 13: The Really Good News

The Scriptures tell us that Abraham believed God and he was counted as right with God because of his faith. When people work, their wages are not a gift, but something they have earned. People are counted as right with God, not because of their work, but because of their faith in God who forgives…

A Season of Harvest Day 12: Hungry and Naked without a Home

Jesus was born in a manger, hungry and naked, without a home (Luke 2:16). The younger of two sons asked for his share of his father’s estate and the father’s wealth was divided. This prodigal son went away and squandered it with wild living. The only job he could get was in the fields feeding…

A Season of Harvest Day 11: Fasting and Harvesting

Now in those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” The prophet Isaiah spoke of him, “He is the voice calling from the wilderness for all to prepare the way of the LORD.” John himself had a garment of camel’s hair,…

  • A Season of Harvest Day 10: Connected to the Vine

A Season of Harvest Day 10: Connected to the Vine

I am the true vine, and My Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch that doesn’t bear fruit, and He prunes what does bear fruit so that it will be even more fruitful. No branch can bear fruit by itself, it must remain on the vine. I am the vine and you are…

  • A Season of Harvest Day 9: First Gardener

A Season of Harvest Day 9: First Gardener

The LORD God planted a garden and there He placed the man he had formed from the ground. And out of the ground the LORD God caused every tree to grow that is pleasing to the sight and good for food. There was also a river that flowed out to water the garden. Then He…

  • A Season of Harvest Day 8: Rest from the Harvest

A Season of Harvest Day 8: Rest from the Harvest

For as the promise of resting in Him pulls us on to God’s goal for us, we need to be careful that we are not disqualified … If we believe, we will experience that state of resting … God rested on the seventh day, having completed His work … The promise of rest is there…

  • A Season of Harvest Day 7: The Good Foundation

A Season of Harvest Day 7: The Good Foundation

Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them is like a man building a house who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock. When there was a flood, the river burst against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. But the one…

  • A Season of Harvest Day 6: The Good Soil

A Season of Harvest Day 6: The Good Soil

Jesus was teaching them many things in parables, “Behold, the sower went out to sow and some seed fell beside the road. The birds came and ate it up. Other seed fell on the rocky ground where it immediately began to spring up. And when the sun rose, it was scorched and it withered. Other…
