30 DAY FAST, SEPTEMBER 1 – SEPTEMBER 30 (Join any time, see how to prepare below.)

Early morning posts every day: 30 days of fasting does not mean you do not eat for 30 days! A fast can be many things. Normally it is a plan to deny yourself some kind of food or something that is habitual. You want the lack of it to be noticed regularly by your body and your mind. And you want to experience a sort of hunger for it. It can be a good thing or a bad thing. A fast, by design, will turn your thoughts toward God when the moment comes that you say No. These posts will help you prepare and focus on how He will spiritually provide what you need, in the moment and beyond.

Evening posts every day: Personal posts from me that share my own daily experience of fasting, encourage tasting the sweetness of our Lord before sleep, and prepare us for an ever deeper renewal in the morning.

Fast Prep Day 4: Reasons to Fast

There isn’t just one reason to fast. The Bible is full of situations where fasting takes place for personal, family and national reasons. Isaiah 58: 1-9 My post-COVID-19 journey led me to stop, as it did so many others, and God led me to meditate on Isaiah 58. It initiated an intimate dialogue with God about fasting and how this spiritual habit adds to His kingdom and His harvest (Matthew 9:37-38)! Let’s dig into this passage together and…

The Great Commission: The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him, but some of them doubted. Hunger for the Harvest Day 22: Send Me

Isaiah the prophet was called to plant seeds for the people of Israel to clearly follow their God, but his awareness of their sin blocked his own sense of confidence in this role. God had a special vision for Isaiah that made all the difference! We know that we are sent to plant seeds for…

Hunger for the Harvest Day 20: Hungry and Homeless

Hunger and homelessness is not a modern phenomenon. Lamentations was written by Jeremiah, the prophet of God, in the 6th century before Christ and this book of the Bible is known for its imagery and poetic brilliance. Jerusalem and the temple were judged by God and then destroyed by the Babylonians. They felt their rejection…
