HUNGER FOR THE HARVEST, JUNE 3 AUGUST 21

Posts every Wednesday and Friday to learn about the connection between fasting and His harvest. We will explore together how fasting increases your hunger for God, creating a position of humility that thirsts for holy intimacy and holy maturity. Helping others and planting seeds will become a natural and a supernatural response. Jesus is the Lord of the Harvest, He will use you in the lives of others to further His kingdom.

COMING NEXT: 30 DAY FAST AND PREPARATION, AUGUST 24 – SEPTEMBER 30

Posts every day. 30 days of fasting does not mean you do not eat for 30 days! The preparation posts will help you identify which meals or what things God may be asking you to abstain from for 30 days. A fast can be many things. Normally it is a plan to deny yourself some kind of food or something that is habitual. You want the lack of it to be noticed regularly by your body and your mind. And you want to experience a sort of hunger for it. It can be a good thing or a bad thing. A fast, by design, will turn your thoughts toward God when the moment comes that you say No. These posts will help you focus on how He will spiritually provide what you need, in the moment and beyond.

Jesus stood up to read the scroll of Isaiah: The Spirit of the LORD is on Me, because He has anointed Me to bring a message of good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom for those who are captive and recovery of sight for the blind and to set free…

Hunger for the Harvest Day 20: Hungry and Homeless

Hunger and homelessness is not a modern phenomenon. Lamentations was written by Jeremiah, the prophet of God, in the 6th century before Christ and this book of the Bible is known for its imagery and poetic brilliance. Jerusalem and the temple were judged by God and then destroyed by the Babylonians. They felt their rejection…

Hunger for the Harvest Day 19: Feeding the Hungry

Planting seeds of God’s care in people’s hearts may grow from the soil of fullness in their belly. And especially when they feel a connection to the person who plants and fills them with God’s happy Word. Jesus withdrew to a secluded place, and when the people heard, they followed Him on foot from the…

Hunger for the Harvest Day 18: Passion

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. (2 Cor 1:…

Hunger for the Harvest Day 17: Helping Others

Consider the gifts God has given you and serve someone a tall drink of God’s living water (John 4:10)! As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the multifaceted grace of God … whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by…

  • Hunger for the Harvest Day 16: Clothed to Serve

Hunger for the Harvest Day 16: Clothed to Serve

We all want to put on clothes that are well-fitting, attractive, serviceable and appropriate! And we would never knowingly let our children leave the house with dirty or torn clothes that are too small. Unless they are making mud pies or building a treehouse! But what about how we clothe ourselves spiritually? That old life…

Hunger for the Harvest Day 15: Recovery

When you spend intimate time with Him fasting and praying, you jump-start whatever recovery might be needed during this season of your life. As you continue to identify your focus, it may involve rebuilding, repairing and restoring habits that were your strength. Don’t be afraid to go back there! He is with you and He…

  • Hunger for the Harvest Day 14: Character

Hunger for the Harvest Day 14: Character

If you are looking for character in the life of Jesus, you don’t have to read much of the Bible to see that! But reading a whole Gospel from beginning to end (Matthew, Mark, Luke or John) will show you the fuller picture of how He lived His life of character as a habit that…

  • Hunger for the Harvest Day 13: Holy Living, Holy Guide

Hunger for the Harvest Day 13: Holy Living, Holy Guide

There are so many types of guides we may run into in our life. We mostly are not shy about respecting the expertise of others and we welcome help when we can find it or afford it. We may engage a marriage counselor, a business mentor, a life coach, an accountant, a lawyer, a tax-preparer,…

  • Hunger for the Harvest Day 12: Fruit of Humility

Hunger for the Harvest Day 12: Fruit of Humility

With all humility, gentleness, and patience, show tolerance for one another. This is love. Eph 4:2 We might think there is humility in someone who bows downs, lowers their eyes, and waits for instructions, like a servant. But after reading this verse, the more biblical picture God brings to mind for me is someone who…
