Fast Prep Day 4: How Not to Fast
You say, “Why have we fasted and You have not been impressed? Why have we been hard on ourselves and You have not even noticed?” I, the LORD, say, “Because you are fasting to please yourselves and even while you are fasting, you oppress your workers. What good is fasting if it ends in quarreling…

Fast Prep Day 1: God’s Fast
My post-COVID-19 journey led me to stop, as it did so many others, and God led me to meditate on Isaiah 58. It initiated an intimate dialogue with God about fasting and how this spiritual habit adds to His kingdom and His harvest (Matthew 9:37-38)! Let’s dig into this passage together and my hope is…

Hunger for the Harvest Day 24: Bear Fruit
We plant seeds that grow and eventually bear fruit for His abundant harvest. Let’s keep connected to Jesus and bear fruit that brings true joy for us and those He places in our path! I am the true vine, and My Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch that doesn’t bear fruit, and…

The Great Commission: The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him, but some of them doubted. Hunger for the Harvest Day 22: Send Me
Isaiah the prophet was called to plant seeds for the people of Israel to clearly follow their God, but his awareness of their sin blocked his own sense of confidence in this role. God had a special vision for Isaiah that made all the difference! We know that we are sent to plant seeds for…

Hunger for the Harvest Day 21: The Harvest is Coming
Jesus stood up to read the scroll of Isaiah: The Spirit of the LORD is on Me, because He has anointed Me to bring a message of good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim freedom for those who are captive and recovery of sight for the blind and to set free…

MAKING SPACE: NOVEMBER 4 – NOVEMBER 27
Posts every Wednesday and Friday: Reflect on how to use fasting to make more space for God in your life. God made a space in His world for us. Make space in the morning and enjoy intimacy with Him. Make space in your schedule to breathe and be refreshed by Him. Make space in the moment and better reflect God to others. Make space in your conversations with others and learn how to listen like He does. Make space in your commitments so that you can say Yes! to the things He wants you to do.
COMING NEXT! A SEASON OF HARVEST: DECEMBER 2 – DECEMBER 22
Daily posts: Fasting from physical food promotes hungering for more of God. And God hungers for a soul harvest, which is why He sent Jesus as a baby, just like food grows from small seeds. He was nurtured by His parents and by His Father in heaven. “He kept increasing in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” (Luke 2:52) He came to spiritually harvest all the seed-planting that we do, because He is the Lord of the Harvest (Luke 10:2). And He responds with magnificent joy to the finding of each lost one who is saved to grow in Him (Matthew 18:13). Explore what it means to plant seeds for His harvest, especially during this season of celebrating the birth of Jesus.
