HABITS OF JESUS, MARCH 12 – APRIL 4

Daily posts to learn more about how Jesus modeled His life for us. For 21 days leading up to Easter, explore the habits of Jesus that kept Him hungering for His Father and continuing His mission. Even though He was separated from Him on earth and about to be separated in a different way by His death on the cross, He was faithful and believed in His resurrection.

Coming Next: FASTING IN THE BIBLE, APRIL 8 – MAY 29

Posts every Wednesday and Friday to learn about fasting in the Bible. We will review the whole Bible, exploring what happened when fasting was a special focus for the people of Israel, in the Old Testament and the New Testament. Keeping in mind the way that Jesus taught us to fast, we will find new ways for us to enact a spiritual habit of fasting in our modern lives.

Marks of a Disciple 13: Integrity Questions

This questionnaire is designed for you to self-assess behaviors that show at what level you are taking actions, making choices, and attaining knowledge that characterizes a disciple of Christ.

Ask yourself these questions and gain clarity regarding your path of growth in integrity.

This is not a test! There is no grade! There is no one to compare yourself to!

Take note of the questions that you might answer Never/Unlikely/or Unaware. Pray through them and identify areas where God might ask you to focus and grow next year. In the same way, note your answers of Often/Very Likely/or Very Aware and thank God for the opportunities He has given you to grow in those areas. Posts for the next five days will cover each of the marks of a disciple. You may want to refer to previous posts for more information about each mark.

INTEGRITY is a characteristic that can be measured by the extent of the disciple’s faithfulness and participation in the following spiritual disciplines.

Faithfulness to God: 1 Timothy 3:11, “Faithful in all things.”

  1. How often do you set boundaries for your spiritual protection? Never/Sometimes/Often
  2. How likely is it that your inner character reflects the character of God when you are faced with worldly temptations? Unlikely/Likely/Very Likely
  3. How aware are you of thoughts that compromise your faith? Unaware/Aware/Very Aware
  4. Which word best describes how you feel when you are faithful to God? Surrendered/Persistent/Wise/Loving/Powerful

Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:16, “All Scripture is … useful for training in righteousness.”

  1. If a daily reading of the Scriptures is a standard, how often do you read your Bible? Never/Sometimes/Often
  2. How likely is it that you refer to truths in the Scriptures when you or someone has a spiritual question? Unlikely/Likely/Very Likely
  3. How aware are you of specific Bible verses that can help you in the moment? Unaware/Aware/Very Aware
  4. Which word best describes how you feel when you read your Bible consistently? Surrendered/Persistent/Wise/Loving/Powerful

Identify one action that could support your growth. After completing the questions for each of the five marks, prioritize each action and choose one to commit to for next year.

Faithful Lord, Your faithfulness is shown to me every day. My desire is to daily meet with You and read Your Word. By this, please fill me with Your love and character and uncompromise. I love You. Amen.
