HUNGER FOR THE HARVEST, JUNE 3 AUGUST 21

Posts every Wednesday and Friday to learn about the connection between fasting and His harvest. We will explore together how fasting increases your hunger for God, creating a position of humility that thirsts for holy intimacy and holy maturity. Helping others and planting seeds will become a natural and a supernatural response. Jesus is the Lord of the Harvest, He will use you in the lives of others to further His kingdom.

COMING NEXT: 30 DAY FAST AND PREPARATION, AUGUST 24 – SEPTEMBER 30

Posts every day. 30 days of fasting does not mean you do not eat for 30 days! The preparation posts will help you identify which meals or what things God may be asking you to abstain from for 30 days. A fast can be many things. Normally it is a plan to deny yourself some kind of food or something that is habitual. You want the lack of it to be noticed regularly by your body and your mind. And you want to experience a sort of hunger for it. It can be a good thing or a bad thing. A fast, by design, will turn your thoughts toward God when the moment comes that you say No. These posts will help you focus on how He will spiritually provide what you need, in the moment and beyond.

    Planting Seeds Day 11: Repent!

You can plant seeds one by one with your own green or not so green thumb, or use a big noisy and smelly machine to do all the work for you. Not that God has anything against machinery for farmers! But when we move forward to plant seeds for His kingdom, God wants a personal…

  • Planting Seeds Day 10: Humility

    Planting Seeds Day 10: Humility

The role of a farmer is one of total dependence upon God for the sun and the rain and the growth of the seeds he plants. But this can be a humbling experience for us when we plant seeds for God on our knees. We hardly ever see the full fruit of what we are…

  • Planting Seeds Day 9: Bear Fruit

Planting Seeds Day 9: Bear Fruit

We plant seeds that grow and eventually bear fruit. Let’s keep connected to Jesus and bear fruit that brings true joy! I am the true vine, and My Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch that doesn’t bear fruit, and He prunes what does bear fruit so that it will be even more…

  • Planting Seeds Day 8: Holy Spirit Guide

Planting Seeds Day 8: Holy Spirit Guide

There are so many types of guides we may run into in our life. We mostly aren’t shy about respecting the expertise of others and we welcome help when we can find it or afford it. We may engage a marriage counselor, a business mentor, a life coach, an accountant, a lawyer, a tax-preparer, a…

Planting Seeds Day 7: Build and Rebuild

However God calls you to plant seeds for His kingdom, you won’t get far if you haven’t paid attention to the building that is the foundation for your faith: Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them is like a man building a house who dug deep and laid a…

Planting Seeds Day 6: Good Soil

Our eagerness to plant seeds is a wonderful thing! It spurs us on with added emotion to our spiritual demeanor. When God shows us something new, we become filled with joy and enthusiasm for such blessings. The energy we feel from serving God and being His voice can be exhilarating! But in this parable Christ…

  • Planting Seeds Day 5: Send Me

Planting Seeds Day 5: Send Me

Isaiah the prophet was called to plant seeds for the people of Israel to clearly follow their God, but his awareness of their sin blocked his own sense of confidence in this role. God had a special vision for Isaiah that made all the difference! We know that we are sent to plant seeds for…

  • Planting Seeds Day 4: Feed My Sheep

Planting Seeds Day 4: Feed My Sheep

This is one of my favorite passages in Scripture, because I have been on this John 21 beach! In 2002 I spent four months in Israel and was able to jump in the car and in a few hours reach pretty much any place mentioned in the Bible. This beach is by the Sea of…

  • Planting Seeds Day 3: Good News

Planting Seeds Day 3: Good News

Jesus’ ministry started officially when He was in the synagogue in Nazareth. He didn’t list things for us to do, but described a vision of what it will look like already done. And who would do it! Jesus stood up to read the scroll of Isaiah: The Spirit of the LORD is on Me, because…

  • Planting Seeds Day 2: I AM

Planting Seeds Day 2: I AM

Planting seeds for His harvest starts with a clearer understanding of just Who it is that designed and commanded this cycle of life that originated with our One and Only God. He is a sending God and sends us out to labor for this harvest of souls, supplied with all that He is in our…
