I am so excited that you and I are here together at the end of our 30 Day Fast. Whatever it is that you gave up in order to focus on receiving from Him, I’m sure that you want to go out and eat that or do that immediately! And we have the freedom in Christ to do just that. But always keep in mind the maxim of moderation and where your heart is. Because, since you have completed a spiritual journey that focused on God, you can expect that you might be more tempted than ever, now that it is over. Just like Jesus, at the end of His 40 day fast!
When the devil had finished tempting Jesus, he left him until the next opportunity came. Luke 4: 13
What can we do? Review your fasting time. Continue with the parts that gave you great joy, grew your hunger for Him or showed you new habits that work for you. Start now to solidify those new spiritual habits and resist the future temptings of the devil, the world and your own flesh.
Take some time to review your fast:
How has a renewed hunger for Him made a difference in my life?
How has my relationship with Him become more satisfying?
What has God taught me that was new?
How have I seen God intensify things I already knew?
What attitudes or actions have changed in my life that I want to continue?
When and how do I want to continue to pursue new habits?
WHAT’S NEXT ON HAPPY HUNGER?
Starting Wednesday, February 14. I will lead us on a journey of pursuing new spiritual habits and changes in our lives! There are a few things I am working on also. So, twice a week (Wednesdays and Fridays), I will post to encourage you to keep on keeping on, give you some ideas on how to see those new habits happen and exploring what the Bible says for support.
Starting Sunday, March 10. For 21 days leading up to Easter (March 10-30), we will explore the habits of Jesus that kept Him hungering for His Father and continuing His mission. Even though He was separated from Him on earth and about to be separated in a different way at His death on the cross, He was faithful.
“I am waking up to my last day of fasting. It’s been good for my spirit, mind and body. I will be adding more reading to my daily routine. This fast came at a perfect time to help me go through some difficult situations and gave me the energy to endure.” -Jacque
