HUNGER FOR THE HARVEST, JUNE 3 AUGUST 21

Posts every Wednesday and Friday to learn about the connection between fasting and His harvest. We will explore together how fasting increases your hunger for God, creating a position of humility that thirsts for holy intimacy and holy maturity. Helping others and planting seeds will become a natural and a supernatural response. Jesus is the Lord of the Harvest, He will use you in the lives of others to further His kingdom.

COMING NEXT: 30 DAY FAST AND PREPARATION, AUGUST 24 – SEPTEMBER 30

Posts every day. 30 days of fasting does not mean you do not eat for 30 days! The preparation posts will help you identify which meals or what things God may be asking you to abstain from for 30 days. A fast can be many things. Normally it is a plan to deny yourself some kind of food or something that is habitual. You want the lack of it to be noticed regularly by your body and your mind. And you want to experience a sort of hunger for it. It can be a good thing or a bad thing. A fast, by design, will turn your thoughts toward God when the moment comes that you say No. These posts will help you focus on how He will spiritually provide what you need, in the moment and beyond.

  • Habits of Jesus Day 13: Let Go

Habits of Jesus Day 13: Let Go

Jesus didn’t let anything get in the way of His path to the cross: not family, nor disciples, nor pressure from the Pharisees, nor the recognition of the physical pain ahead. His desire was that we also let go and take on His habit of following the will of the Father, wherever that takes us.…

  • Habits of Jesus Day 12: Be Family

Habits of Jesus Day 12: Be Family

Who do we consider to be family in our lives? Jesus had a family He grew up with (Luke 8:19), the twelve disciples (Mark 3:16) and many other disciples (Luke 10:1). He treated them all as part of His family and as part of God’s family. We can grow in the roles God has designed…

  • Habits of Jesus Day 11: Humility and Love

Habits of Jesus Day 11: Humility and Love

Be humble, like Christ. Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Do nothing from selfishness or empty…

  • Habits of Jesus Day 10: Protect Them

Habits of Jesus Day 10: Protect Them

This was not the first time that Jesus prayed for His mission and the mission He was to leave behind for the disciples to spearhead. It was not the first time He prayed for the twelve disciples and for the people who were following Him. But, since it was some of the last words recorded…

  • Habits of Jesus Day 9: Not Blaming

Habits of Jesus Day 9: Not Blaming

From the Place for Truth online, they outline several themes in the book of Job that direct you to Jesus: The righteous one who suffers (Js 5:11). The longing for a mediator. The lack of answers to the problem of suffering. We read some verses about the character of Jesus yesterday and explored Jesus’ habit…

  • Habits of Jesus Day 8: Character

Habits of Jesus Day 8: Character

If you are looking for character in the life of Jesus, you don’t have to read much of the Bible to see that! But reading a whole Gospel from beginning to end (Matthew, Mark, Luke or John) will show you the fuller picture of how He lived His life of character as a habit that…

  • Habits of Jesus Day 7: Walking in the Spirit

Habits of Jesus Day 7: Walking in the Spirit

Jesus walked in the Spirit (Luke 4:1,14) throughout His ministry and also as He walked towards Jerusalem and its culmination at the cross. He felt oppressed in the Garden of Gethsemane, but moved into His capture as God’s will, with the grace of the Spirit. Walking in the Spirit was more than a habit, because…

  • Habits of Jesus Day 6: Healing

Habits of Jesus Day 6: Healing

We sometimes think of healing as a one-time, miraculous event, and it is that! Jesus healed many people during His ministry. But when it came to His own body, He made it a habit to consistently remind the disciples that it was only an earthly body (John 2:21). His three years of ministry led to…

  • Habits of Jesus Day 5: Forgiven Much

Habits of Jesus Day 5: Forgiven Much

One of the biggest chains that bind many is debt. And there are many reasons for debt to become an issue. Some reasons are innocent, some from neglect or lack of financial skill and some from lack of discipline. But after it becomes an issue, it often grows exponentially. I have had debt issues before…

  • Habits of Jesus Day 4: The Better Thing

Habits of Jesus Day 4: The Better Thing

We are learning how to pray our Lord’s Prayer and share this with others, but none of this can be effective for us if we don’t approach Him with the right heart (James 5:16) or make sincere arrangements to spend undistracted time with Him.  As Jesus and the disciples were traveling on their way, He…
