Is this not the fast which I choose, to loosen the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free and break every yoke? Is it not to divide your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into the house? And when you see the naked, to cover him and not hide yourself from your own flesh? (Isaiah 58: 6 – 7)
God says: Help free the oppressed. Feed the hungry and shelter the homeless. Clothe the needy. Pay attention to your relatives.
It is okay to start small!
Read a post every day this week to encourage you and give you ideas about how and why God can use your generosity to feed and plant eternal seeds in a stranger’s heart.
Ask God for a specific way to honor the hungry (or the oppressed, homeless, unclothed, or needy relative) during this season in which we honor the Christ-child who came to serve and to save the lost, the least and the last.
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many (Mark 10:45).
Find some friends or family to help!
Follow through with your project starting December 4.
Dear Christ-child, even You were served as a baby, but as You grew You served us in so many ways. Show me how to serve others in Your name this season and always share Your love. Amen.
